Scrap the Boys August Challenge

So this month's challenge was to do a boy layout with flowers or about a boy's feminine side. I used both criteria to do this lo of youngest DS dressed in his sisters beautiful princess dress! Too cute!

Sneak Peek

So...just thought I would share a little peak of my work for this months newsletter at Country Papercraft. Don't want anyone to think I hadn't actually been creating lately...!?!? Which I hadn't...I did all these today! lol!

I'm really happy with all of them. The newsletter is due out at the start of the month so can let you see the whole of each lo then! In the meantime, still have a sketch one to do...
Back soon........

Retreat officially over and officially successful!

Well we had an awesome weekend scrapping. Met some new friends, caught up with some old friends. Shared lots of scrapping love as we had lots of donations from local businesses and my BFF at Kaisercraft! Haven't done a final count yet, but looks like close to $2000 we will be banking to The Cancer Council! Great cause and we got to have fun at the same time. Personally I didn't get that much done...only 7 pages, all quite basic. But in my defense...I did have to set up, go out for footy in the next town, come back, visit DD who came home from boarding school for the weekend, go out again for soccer preliminary finals for DS team that I manage (they won...7-1!! 4 goals kicked - no 3 goals kicked, 1 "headed" by my very talented DS!!)
So more time out than in it feels, but here's some of the work I did manage to get done...

Had no idea where this was going when I started or what the title would be..just knew I loved the photo! And I wanted to put that Purple Pumpkin button on there and then I had to find something to match..hence the rubons! The ribbon is also from Purple Pumpkin Like Father Like Son kit I bought, as are the next couple of lo's

This one above uses the August Sketch at Anna's Craft Cupboard

This one above  I did for the Scrap The Boys Criteria this month (to use ribbons in a different way)

Some old Kaisercraft pp's and a cheeky boy and some burger rings...need I say more....??!!

Here's a close up in case you were wondering how many burger rings..!!??! (13 Riley tells me!)
Just a quickie....The photos are cute but hard to see...
Our dog is an outside dog, but if Riley or Tillysox (the dog!) think I'm not looking, she sneaks onto the mat at the back door. Riley's favourite place is nestled into her arms, head on her, and she loves it!
Right..better get started on putting my craft room back together so I can start on my "homework" for this month!

Scrap Weekend nearly here!

I should be getting organised for the Scrap In (Girls Night In, Scrapbooking Weekend) I am organising with a couple of friends - and it's THIS WEEKEND - but I wanted to share my latest work first! I feel like I haven't scrapped for ages (the newsletter was late, I finished these a couple of weeks ago). But I'm hoping to make up for it this weekend!!! Well if I get packed.............find some photos..........lug it all to the venue..........bring my mojo.................. Aaarrrggghhhhh! At least tea is cooking itself! Can't believe I put the slow cooker on before I went to work and then got a surprise when I walked in after work and smelt it cooking! I had completely forgotten about it! Told you I had lots on......

Check out this old photo! This is using a sketch from the Imaginisce Blog. A nice easy one I will probably use lots! (You can see it again down the bottom on my lo for Lone.... Using the CPC monthly kit

Chipboard Challenge....so cute these Sassafrass chippie stickers. Finally got around to scrapping some photos from our visit to Werribee Zoo in 2006!

This was a Sassafrass Stash challenge. Visited the Monster Trucks in Kalgoorlie earlier this year. Awesome!

A challenge to create something masculine, with Father's Day coming up quickly. This is a 7 Gypsies Frame I have had for ages and finally got around to decorating.  Just needs a photo sliding in behind the glass. Not too much to it as all of the men in my family are pretty plain, no fanciness kind of guys!

This was a challenge to use lots of soft stuff, so plenty of fabric and felt and chrocheted (not by me!) flowers.
I went abseiling for my friend's 40th a few years ago. It was a long way down, but it was even further to climb back up in between! We went down backwards and then forwards! I liked backwards better as I had done that before and it felt more controlled. The whole walking off the edge of a cliff forward freaked me out!

Another one using the August Kit. This is my sister and her family. A beautiful photo taken by our friend Marni Topping.

And this gorgeous lo was a photo swap done for me by my friend Lone in SA. This is my Pop's good POW buddy, a cheeky (crude!) bloke named Snow Fairclough! We've learnt more about what my pop went through in the war from Snow than we ever would have from pop. Snow has been on the Quiet Lion Tour a few times and my sister has been with her school. This year my dad went by himself and met up with the group in Thailand. Think it would have been an informative and emotional trip for him! Having Snow there would have been like having his dad there explaining it (with a few more informative words of course!)

And in return, this is my photo swap lo for Lone! She hasn't seen it yet because it's still in the good old AP truck/plane making it's way across to her. So shhhhhh................ Hope she likes it!

So anyway, you can check out the Countrypapercraft Newsletter here

I'm off to get ready for the scrap weekend...well straight after Zumba, tea, dishes, paperwork for the weekend, .......................................

Cake Face!

Check out my youngest niece who is clearly related to me with her love of chocolate mud cake! She tried her best to lick it off her face but her nasty dad wiped it off with a flannel! Spoilsport!
Using the Kaisercraft Saturday Sketch no 1.
Those pretty flowers and circles and "fluffy stuff" are from Sam at Purple Pumpkin. Can't believe what a perfect match they turned out to be!

Another giveaway

Just been over to Scrap The Boys and they are having an awesome BOY giveaway! With 3 boys to scrap, I certainly need that!  Check it out and if you don't like it....just enter my name instead of yours! lol!
Photobucket
Clink on the blinkie...it'll take you straight there...how cool is that!?!

Sharing........maybe!

I couldn't decide whether to post this or not...LOL! Imaginisce are having an awesome giveaway. By telling people I get an extra entry, but if I tell people I have less chance of winning....now you see my dilemma!
But truly, it's too good not to share so I'm sharing and leaving the rest up to the Great Kharma God!!!
Check it out here: i-rockin-12x12-leather-album-and-huge

500 Visitors!!!!!!!!

Woo hoo! Just looked at my little counter down the bottom of the page and apparently I've had 500 visitors! (Bet lots of them are me logging in to see if anyone looked at my blog! lol!) Anyway, it's nice to think that some people do pop over occassionally and see what I'm up to! (And I know it's not my family because they just like seeing my stuff IRL, not looking on here!)

***EDITED - chuckling to myself...less than 10 minutes after this post, 2 nice people commented so now I know REAL people are seeing my work! And being the big show off I am.....gotta love that!

Saturday Sketches - Kaisercraft

I forgot to show off one of the sketches I did for the Saturday Sketches at Kaisercraft this month.
I didn't win, and the first lo I did  got a mention as 1 of the 5 faves Kaisercraft narrowed it down to before selecting a winner! I actually like this one better, which was my 3rd entry....
Just thought I'd share.....

Another month...another newsletter.......

I used to think it sad that people on design team never got to scrap for themselves anymore. I promised that wouldn't be me, but lately it seems that I don't get much time for scrapping and the time I do get, goes to Design Team work! I am going to get over that though...I hate not being able to share my work as I do it.
But for now, here are my efforts for the August Country Papercraft Newsletter

I just love this photo! Phil insists his is also a 6 pack, even though it's hiding under a few layers!
The next 2 are using the August kit

"Borrowed" Riley's Mini Monster truck to do the tracks on both of these! He didn't mind though!
This one was a colour challenge....black, white and 1 other colour. Mine was red obviously! My wedding was completely pink and I have previously "done" my wedding album in pink and very "CM" style. Gradually, I am going to choose a few photos and redo it, so here's one to get started.

Another one using the monthly kit. The boys all had fun at the farm skimming stones on the dam, once they decided there were no yabbies. There weren't many flat rocks, so uncle Mike cheated and made his own! Phil managed to hold the record on the day though with 7 skips. It was so still I was able to take a photo of the rings sitting on the surface!
Some things never change.......
