Not letting another month go by.....!!

The days are just rushing past, there's barely any time to scrap!
Today I've been helping at a Sausage Sizzle for school, but I had to come home and scrap since I haven't done any for ages!

I just did this page quickly for the Scrap the Boys Challenge this month...Dancer or Prancer?? My boys are most definitely  dancers! Everytime I pick up either of my cameras or my phone, I find new photos or videos of my boys and my nephews practicing their dance moves! The latest is the "shuffle". Check it out on you-tube if you can't see it in these photos! lol
Using free papers from a recent scrapping magazine. Grunged it up a bit since it was purple (just liek Callum's shirt so I could get away with it!)
And this is a canvas I did for my friend Barbie for a Secret Santa Swap. She guessed straight away it was from me, so I guess I wasn't a very good Secret Santa! lol

The other couple I've done are for the Design Team so can't show those just yet! Couple more days....

Where did that month go?????

Can't believe it's a month since I last posted! So here's a quick update of things I've been working on. It's not as much as I would like, but it's almost holidays so there's hope yet.....

These are the ATC's I did for an ATC art swap. My first play at being "arty" and quite pleased with how they turned out.

My Bali album...started but no photos yet!

Some new LYB papers and black for a change from white or kraft!

For my sketch challenge at CPC, great way to use up some scraps

Newsletter time again at CPC

Well the newsletter should be out by now so I can show you the work I did for the Countrypapercraft Design Newsletter this month. We've changed a few things so there is less in the newsletter and more action (and challenges and prizes!) on the blog.......Go check it out!

Ok, this first one is one I did using the November Design Kit. This is my Nana who died last week. I was going to write a few of my good memories on the page, but then they kept coming and coming......so I ended up having to squish them all in! Oh well, guess it's good that we have so many happy memories!
Another one using the kit. With so much in Nan's I wanted to go a bit more minimalist:

Just a fun one. Challenge was to use Sassafrass Stash and Buttons. This is a conversation I printed of my DD's Facebook page a few months ago. Thought I should keep a record of when she thought her littlest brother was so cute in case it doesn't last!

Time for an Update

Thought it was about time I did another update!

It's my turn to set the weekend challenge at Country Papercraft and of course it had to be a Halloween challenge! I've done one as an actual Halloween lo and then one which is Halloween colours but not Halloween themed:

And this is the lo I did for the Kaisercraft November Mix it Up Challenge:

Right, back to packing....I'm off to Bali for 2 weeks tomorrow!!!!!!
YAHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!

Blog Whisper

Yay, finally time to show off the blog whispers!
You can check them out from the start here at Bridges blog and follow the links from page to page

{there are two separate whispers}.

Each person does a 'version' of the layout that was sent to them,  then passes it on to the next in line until the final lo and then they are all revealed.

And this is my interpretation of the lo I got  from Sam:

I sent mine to Belinda  Hers isn't up yet...can't wait to see what she did with it.
I'm off to check them out in order to see how the original has evolved!

Thanks Bridge for organising this..even if it did take longer than you expected!

Vote for me!!!

I entered the sketch challenge over at Multi-photo scrapbooking and it's voting time!
Here's the sketch:

And here's my take on it

If you want to vote for me you need to email  mealin@optusnet.com.au  Thanks in advance!

PS Here is some important stuff about the sketch.....Valerie's TOU for this sketch are as follows:-

No scrapping but lots to scrap about!

Just thought I would do a little update since it has been way too long. Haven't had much time in my scrap room lately but when I do, it should be fun since there have been some big moments to scrap about.

So much for staying home and relaxing this last school holidays before we head off to Bali in 14 sleeps! We ended up having to spend a week in Perth as my sister was sick. We did manage to squeeze in a trip to a skate park and fun centre and beach, and see quite a few rellies so it wasn't all bad.

This weekend we had our local show, but of course we weren't going because of Bali being so close and because we were supposed to be camping for my mum's 60th.....BUT we did go for a short time after mum changed her party to her house since my sis is still in hospital and we didn't want to leave her by herself while we all went camping!

So this is the show. Boys had a ride each and some lucky tickets, lunch and then home. Luckily it was the smallest, boringest show yet so they were happy to save their money for Bali! I did enter some photos and scrapbooking. My cruise album won 1st in the OTP section and then Best Scrapbooking Exhibit overall. Gotta love that! I actually did better with my OTP's than lo's but that's ok.
Mum's party was awesome! The theme was "p" party as that's all anyone seemed to have when we were kids. Mum was a Persian Princess, my youngest sister and I were Playboy BunnyGirls since that's what we were back in about 1983! My big sister came as a Patient for a couple of hours! (She went to a lot of trouble to be admitted to hospital just to be a patient but I think she would have preferred to come as anything else!)
We had penguins, police (even some real ones chatting to our young boys dressed as female prostitutes!), plenty of pirates, Protestors; the PM came (she's a drunk btw! and a photo hog...oops,maybe not the real one!); Popeye, a Pensioner (complete with nappy and catheter...can't take any chance apparently!)  Everyone went to a lot of trouble..that's why it was awesome!

So like I said, lots of fun and lots to scrap....better get to it!

Oh, just remembered I haven't shared the lo's I did for the last Countrypapercraft Newsletter using the monthly kit

AWOL...Again!

Can't believe it's been so long since my last post! I did have a good excuse though...had to go to the city as my big sis has been in hospital. Been a couple of big weeks but seems to be back under control now.
So, on a much brighter note.....here are the lo's I did before I had to run away:

This first one with the October kit at Country Papercraft

This one also for CPC A challemge to use fibres. I stitched the flowers which were pre-punched in this c/s. Don't know how many years I've had this and not used it, but finally found a use for it! Gorgeous girlie Cosmo Cricket pp's...I had to steal my niece for the morning and take some photos just so I could use it!

Another newsletter item.....my Little Book Worm! Love these Bo Bunny pp's!
The next one was for the cybercrop over at Scrapping Outback. Don't be fooled...my craft room is not really that tidy! Obviously had just had a reshuffle so it looks clean and tidy!
This is my "swap-back" from my Friend Leonie. I sent her some photos and she sent some to me and we each scrapped each others. Fun to try someone else's style for a change. Love what she did with mine..hope she loved hers too!

Another Scrapping Outback Twilight Cybercrop challenge. I had to do some quite different things with this Cybercrop. I could have looked at them and decided they were just too hard (or time consuming!), but I decided to step out of my comfort zone and try some new things...and guess what??? I loved how they all turned out!

Final CPC newsletter item...shaped background (not round or square) And barely any pp! So not me...I love my patterned paper!!
Have got a few more to scan and upload but will save them for another day.
Might also share some photos from my 20 year High School Reunion last night!....or I might not!
20 years! I remember when I was a kid and my mum and dad went to their 20 year reunions and I thought they must be sooo old to be out of high school for 20 years! lol.....now that's me! OLD!!

Some weekend lo's

Yay, got to do a few lo's this weekend, despite having 7 boys in my house for sleepovers and a birthday party to attend!

This one for the Scrapping Outback cybercrop challenge. Had to create your own background, which i did with lots of paint and glimmermist and stamping. Got my hands dirty but it was worth it!

Another SC CC Challenge, this time about your dream guy. I don't have one so had a fun play.

And this one I did for the Let's Scrap Sketch challenge.

New Multi-photo site

This morning I happened across a new site which is hoping to provide inspiration for those of us who like (need!?) to have more than 1 photo on a lo. I sent off some photos to Ann to see if she wanted to use any and she has now flooded her new blog with my lo's!!! (Thanks Ann!)
I looovveee taking photos, always more than 1 so I am quite used to working with lots of photos, and if it gives anyone else ideas, then I'm happy to help!

The site is: http://www.multiphotoscrapbooklayouts.blogspot.com/ if you are looking for inspiration (or if you  just want to see me "published"!!) lol...

Weekend Challenge at Country Papercraft

Well I stepped up this afternoon to do the weekend challenge at CPC where I'm on the Design Team. Obviously it's a Father's Day Themed challenge!
I have used one of the sketches I made for the recent scrap weekend we held, and I have created a lo and card using the sketch.
Hope you have a go...all entries go into a monthly draw to win a shopping voucher at CPC (and who doesn't need that!?)
Here's the sketch.....................

The layout......................................

And the card...............................

Enter yours into the  gallery for a chance to win....Good luck!

CPC September newsletter is out today!

Which means I can show you those lo's I let you have a sneak peak of earlier this week.....

This one using the kit which i looooveeee....!!!!!!!!!!
This is what the kit looks like...sorry it's so big!
Photobucket

This one a colour challenge.....pink, white, sky blue and yellow! Scary but I think I cracked it! I'm the cute blonde one on the right lower. You can pick my sister with the matching dress....my mum ALWAYS did that to us! My youngest sister is the baby at the front and  the other 2 are cousins.

Having just done a page about each of my boys and where they're at and their faves/traits etc, I thought it would be fun to do one of me...so here it is!

And this cute little album was part of the add on kit this month. I've only done the front cover so far, but as I create scraps I will do the other pages. Really! I will!!!!!!!!

Thanks for peeking......

Scrap the Boys August Challenge

So this month's challenge was to do a boy layout with flowers or about a boy's feminine side. I used both criteria to do this lo of youngest DS dressed in his sisters beautiful princess dress! Too cute!

Sneak Peek

So...just thought I would share a little peak of my work for this months newsletter at Country Papercraft. Don't want anyone to think I hadn't actually been creating lately...!?!? Which I hadn't...I did all these today! lol!

I'm really happy with all of them. The newsletter is due out at the start of the month so can let you see the whole of each lo then! In the meantime, still have a sketch one to do...
Back soon........
