Been too long......again!

Well it's nearly the end of the month already and another CPC newsletter is due out so that must mean that either: A) I haven't scrapped for 2 weeks; or B) I've been too lazy to upload!
Actually it's both. I haven't done very much at all, it's just been too busy with kids sports, sick kids, work, etc.
So just a quick post to  show the few lo's I did do this month.

This is a Kaisercraft Sketch challenge. Tyler had to dress up for school as something starting with P. M or H to raise funds for Princess Margaret Hospital. He went as Michael Jackson. Once we covered his blonde hair, he looked just like him! The pants were mine until the day before! I sacrificed them for the cause, and cut them to size! Everything else came from the toy box. Luckily MJ only wore 1 glove because there was only 1 gold glove in the toy box!

Made this for the kids. They love to play noughts and crosses. Been wanting to do this for ages but couldn't choose a paper. Finally settled on KC Rewind so hopefully it will always be "playable" not babyish in a few years.

Playing along with an embellishment challenge at scrapncraftwitht.com.au The wk 2 challenge was cool colours, paint and a hybrid embellishment. I downloaded the cogs and recoloured them over a photo of Tyler's face. Different, but it got me through to the next round! (Which I haven't started yet and it's due in tomorrow.........better hurry up!)

Did this one of Brittany and Holly for Kaisercraft. Looks better IRL!

Embellishment Competition

I only managed to get one lo done yesterday. Spent all of 30 minutes in my craft room but it was my own fault really..too much time on the computer and on housework! Also had to cook tea for mum and dad who came home from holidays, and both my sisters and their families, who had all missed nan and pop. Think I get less fun stuff done on my "day off" than any other day!
Anyway, this lo is for the *Embellish it competition at http://www.scrapncraftwitht.com.au/*. .Week 1 was a Paint Challenge with a handmade embellishment. I used my cuttlebug inverted scallop to cut the title block out of transparency. I painted the back, layered it up and added rubons and doodling. Also made another pinwheel. Don't know why I've never made these before, they are so easy and so effective!
Made this complete lo with scraps off my desk! Even the pp is an odd shape behind the embellies because it really was a scrap! (shhh!)

GOAL OF THE YEAR............ACHIEVED!! (Well almost!)

It was my goal this year to get a lo published, even though I never get the nerve to actually submit them!! (I hate rejection! lol!)
Well this month I finally got up the courage and sent off two emails (9 lo's in total) and TODAY I got an email back asking if TWO were still available!?!!!!!!!!!! Of course they are available!
I have to wait now for an official email and then of course I've heard that some lo's are accepted but don't actually make the magazine so I probably shouldn't get toooooo excited.....But I just can't help myself!!

Off to my scrap room now to see if some of that excitedness will flow into a lo or 3! (Before my mum and da get back from holidays tonight and I have to have dinner ready for them and my 2 sister's families! Hmmm...wonder if they'll understand no tea because I was
JUST TOO EXCITED!!  LOL!

**** UPDATE: Got my confirmation email and lo's all packaged up with contracts, lists, etc ready to go! Keeping everything crossed they actually get to print!
And don't worry Kris...you will hear about it!!!!!!!!!!

Camp and Newsletter layouts

Just a quick post to upload some of the lo's I did for the midmonth Countrypapercraft Newsletter and some I did at the retreat.

This one I did for my cyberfriend (and now RL friend after meeting her at scrap camp).... ALISON
She had this photo of her 3 boys and wasn't sure what to do with it so I offered to play with it, and she let me!  I didn't even know she had a thing for frogs when I included that cute frog button just to "fun it up" a bit!!
The quote is one I've wanted to use for a long time. I will still use it one day on my boy's pages as I have some photos in mind.

I have a few more lo's from camp but haven't scanned them all yet. I will upload them a bit later, and hopefully some I'll get done today if I hurry up and get off the computer!

Scrap Camp

Well I've just been away for the weekend to SCRAP CAMP!!!!!!!!!!
At countrypapercraft.com.au
It was heaps of fun and I met some lovely new ladies and even got some scrapping done! (Only 9 lo's but even that was ok since I forgot to get my photos printed and only had the ones that were in my folder from 3 or 4 camps ago! So I got some very old photos scrapped which is probably a good thing as there are LOOOOOOOTS of those!
I haven't scanned any yet, but I will do it this week and post some (not all, as some are just very basic and some are repeats of photos I have done before.
Going to have a play also this week at:

So for now, lots to scan and lots to play as I also got some new pp's while I was at the retreat.

More lo's

Here's a few more lo's I got done this weekend. I should be packing for scrap camp but each time I go out to my craft room and start moving things around, it just inspires me to scrap, not pack! I think it's the same before each camp. Hope my mojo doesn't get lost on the way!

The last one for the Cybercrop at Countrypapercraft

This one for a challenge at Scrapbook Savvy

And some cards I made with the leftovers.
Earlier in the year I sent a box of cards to Crawford Lodge which is where Cancer Survivors and their families can stay in Perth while undergoing treatment or for appointments. When I stayed there with my sister once, it was one of her children't birthdays and I realised there would be times when  people couldn't leave to even buy a card, so I made a box for them to access (with the help of my friend Corrina) if they ever need. The box is bigger than a shoebox and within about 6 weeks, it's down to half! So now I am making a card after every lo just to fill it up again! There are a mixture of birthday, thinking of you, mothers day, xmas, etc.

Only simple cards, but hopefully they serve a purpose! My nephew stayed there with his mum last holidays and he went and chose one for his cousin who was having a birthday before they got home! He was so excited when he discovered them and went to tell his mum "some nice person has made cards for everyone to use!" She told him that nice person was ME! He was shocked but happy.

Sleepover!

Last night we had 6 boys sleeping over, and as it's almost winter they all wanted to sleep outside! (BOY logic!!)
Since we probably would have gone camping this weekend if Phil wasn't working, I figured it wouldn't be much different, so 3 big boys set up a tent on the back lawn, and the 3 youngest laid out their swags in the (fully enclosed) patio! Of course, I had to sit up until I was sure they were all alseep (10.30pm all snoring! And no early morning wake up calls either....7am!), so I completed a couple of lo's while I waited.

This one for Marg's B&W plus one other colour Cybercrop Challenge at Country Papercraft. Never much been a yellow fan but I love this lo!

Didn't feel like doing a double with all these photos, so managed to cut them all down and fit on 1 page.
Just for fun, can you believe it!? Just for me!!

The Cybercrop is still going so back off to my scrap room I go.

Lots of Layouts to share!

Phew! Didn't realise how busy I'd been this past week until I went to scan and upload my latest lo's.
Some are for the Design Team so can't show those yet, but here are a few that I have done for fun

Our 2nd Family Food Fight earlier this year. Lots more photos of this, so expect more lo's...one day!
The next 3 are for a Cybercrop at Countrypapercraft this weekend. It's not too late to join in!

Some older photos as well as some recent ones. I find if I don't throw in some old ones occassionally, it's really hard to go back to them!
In case you didn't notice.....kraft is the new white! Tried to get away from it, but it really does look good with all these new papers from Websters, October Afternoon and Cosmo Cricket. (Well probably anything would look good with them...they are such groovy colours!)
Here's something completely different.....using some very old Dream Street PP, wasn't sure what to do with it but had a bit of a play anyway. I don't love it, but it's different to my current style so I'm learning to like it!

Right, back to do more for the Cybercrop.
Phil's at work, Callum has gone to the beach/river, Tyler's at a friend's, so it's just Riley and Me (oh and his DS!)

June is here so new lo's to show!

CPC Newsletter is out today. If you want to see it in full head over to Countrypapercraft.com.au
Here are the lo's I did this month:

This one is a scraplift of a lo by Karen Smith (and I think she borrowed the design from someone else but I'm not sure who so apologies to whoever didn't get credit for it!) The challenge was to create a lo for less than $5. Easy! White c/s, glimmermist and some scrap paper! A few leftover rubons and ribbon scraps and voila!!
The next challenge was to use the Kit which was all BG this month. Not my first choice but easier to work with than I initially though and suited to b&w, sepia or coloured photos.

The Stash Challenge this month was to use up some Cosmo Cricket, which I thought I didn't have any of, but turns out I have lots! Just love this lo of Phil and Tyler at the beach on Boxing Day.
